A History of
Resilience & Growth.
From a small gathering in a living room to a thriving community center, our story is a testament to the power of unity and faith.

Rooted in WNY
Founded by the Nepali community in Buffalo, SDSSS was established with a shared vision of providing religious, cultural, and social services for all Nepali speakers across Western New York (WNY). Beginning in 2012, several committed community members began meeting to discuss the formation of an organization to serve the community's needs. These dedicated individuals laid the legal, cultural, and organizational foundation for SDSSS.
Official Status
Under the leadership of Durga Humagain, the organization successfully obtained 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, enabling it to operate officially. Following a milestone seven-day religious celebration at 216 Beard Avenue, Buffalo, the organization was formally named Sanatan Dharmic Tatha Sanskritik Seva Samaj, Inc. Durga Humagain served as the founding President/CEO from 2014 to 2023.
Leadership & Sustainability
In 2023, leadership transitioned to Purusuttom (PG) Ghimire as Chief Executive Officer. Under this leadership, SDSSS strengthened its governance and programmatic capacity. In 2025, SDSSS formally established the Youth Advisory Council (YAC), ensuring youth engagement, leadership development, and long-term sustainability.
